Who Is VE:NYX (VNX)?
VE:NYX, officially known as VNX (๋น์์์ค), is an independent South Korean boy group that re-emerged in 2026 after a three-year hiatus. The group is composed of former VI’ENX members who originally debuted under NATURE SPACE Entertainment in May 2023.
After VI’ENX disbanded in 2024, members pursued individual paths-some as solo artists, others through survival shows and different groups. However, the desire to perform together never faded. In late 2025, discussions about reuniting began, and by March-April 2026, the decision was finalized.
On July 1, 2026, the group officially opened new social media accounts under the name VNX, confirming their independent operation. The name “VNX” represents “VisioN is X,” symbolizing their renewed vision for the future.
What sets VNX apart is their independent status-they operate without a formal agency, allowing them creative freedom and direct connection with fans. Their story of perseverance, from disbandment to reunion, has already captured the hearts of K-pop enthusiasts who value authenticity and artistic integrity.
Group History
Formation and Pre-Debut
The story of VNX begins withย IBZ (์์ด๋น์ฆ)ย , a five-member boy group formed in February 2023 under NATURE SPACE Entertainment. The original lineup included Younghoon, Uin, owoon (then known as JN), Yeung, and Wonjin. On April 7, 2023, the group rebranded asย VI’ENXย (๋น์์์ค), a name that carried deep meaning-“VI” representing the Roman numeral for 5, and “ENX” symbolizing the desire to create a unique “fifth season” with their fans.
The name was created by members Yeung and Younghoon, reflecting their ambition to establish a distinctive identity in the competitive K-pop landscape.
Official Debut
VI’ENX released their pre-debut album, “On My Way,” on April 16, 2023. Their official debut followed on May 2, 2023, with the single album “On My Way”. The group consisted of five members: Uin (leader, main vocal), JN (main vocal, main dancer, rapper), Younghoon (main vocal, lead dancer, visual), Yeung, and Wonjin.
Despite their promising start, the group faced significant challenges. By March-April 2024, the majority of members had left the group and company. The two remaining members, owoon (formerly JN) and Yeung, joined the survival show PROJECT 7 in October 2024 but were eliminated.
Disbandment and Individual Activities
In December 2024, VI’ENX’s official social media accounts were rebranded to SUPERX, a temporary project unit featuring Yeung and owoon. They eventually joined the company’s new group XONIK. By May 2025, VI’ENX had officially disbanded.
During this period, members pursued diverse paths:
- owoonย launched a solo career under his new stage name, releasing music and performing as a soloist
- Younghoonย served in the South Korean military
- Wonjinย continued his musical journey
- Uinย explored various opportunities in the entertainment industry
The 2026 Reunion: VNX is Born
On June 28, 2026, Wonjin confirmed that VI’ENX would reunite. Just three days later, on July 1, 2026, the group opened official social media accounts under the name VNX and confirmed their independent operation.
The reunion was driven by regrets about not being able to promote properly before their disbandment. The members shared that discussions about reuniting began in late 2025, with the final decision made around March-April 2026.
Notably, Yeung did not join the reunion. Additionally, Younghoon’s profile was not initially made public because he was serving in the military at the time of the reunion announcement.
The group’s independent status is particularly significant. During a July 2 Instagram live, members explained that because they have no individual agencies, it was easier for them to come together. This independence gives them full creative control over their music and activities.
VNX announced their first scheduled activities for August 21 and 22, 2026, in Korea.
Similar Cases in K-Pop
VNX’s journey mirrors that of XEED, another group formerly under NATURE SPACE that parted ways with the agency and re-debuted as XD. This pattern of regrouping and independent operation reflects a growing trend among K-pop artists seeking creative freedom outside the traditional agency system.
Agency and Management
VNX is currently an independent group, operating without a formal entertainment agency. This is a significant departure from their previous management under NATURE SPACE Entertainment.
NATURE SPACE was the agency that formed IBZ in February 2023 and rebranded them as VI’ENX. The company also managed XEED, another boy group that followed a similar path of leaving the agency and re-debuting independently.
The members have confirmed that their independent status actuallyย facilitated the reunion-without contractual obligations to different agencies, they were able to come together more easily.
As an independent group, VNX manages their own:
- Music productionย and release
- Social mediaย and fan communication
- Schedulingย and performance logistics
- Promotional activities
While this independence offers creative freedom, it also means the members bear full responsibility for their careers-a challenge they have willingly embraced.
