A music label and entertainment company in South Korea is called JYP Entertainment (JYP엔터테인먼트). J.Y. Park, a musician, and producer, launched it as Taehong Planning Ltd. (태홍기획) in 1997. In 2001, the company adopted its current name.

In addition to several non-idol groups and solo artists, it is currently home to idol groups like 2PM, TWICE, Stray Kids, ITZY, and NMIXX.

JYP Entertainment, along with YG Entertainment and SM Entertainment, is one of the most successful agencies in Korea based on sales and revenues. JYP Entertainment distributes through a number of businesses in many other countries.

History

2022–present: America2Korea project

JYP Entertainment posted an announcement video on July 25, 2022, featuring chairman Park Jin Young and Monte Lipman, the founder, and CEO of Republic Records.

They disclosed the dates for the America2Korea project’s tryouts, which are intended to find the next “Global Super Girl Group.” The final members picked will make their American debut after completing training at JYP Entertainment in Korea. For all song releases, the trio will collaborate with both JYP Entertainment and Republic Records.
