J-Hope is a South Korean pop star who is a member of the boy band BT-Big Hit Entertainment. J-Hope is a Korean singer-songwriter, rapper, and dancer best known as a member of the boy band Bangtan Boys.

Early Years

Jung Ho-Seok, better known as J-Hope, was born on February 18, 1994, in Gwangju, Korea. He is 26 years old and was born under the sign of Aquarius. He lived with his parents and has an older sister, Instagram star Mejiwoo.

Professional Life and Career

J-Hope was first approached by agents from Big Hit Entertainment during a huge nationwide casting in 2010. He joined Bangtan Boys as its first trainee before becoming a formal member of the band in June 2013 alongside Jin, Suga, RM, Jimin, V, and JungKook.

He made his debut in 2013 with the tune “No More Dream,” which was included on the Bangtan Boys’ debut album ‘2 Cool 4 Skool.’ He went on to win a number of prizes and perform at a variety of events, including the Mnet Asian Music Awards, the American Music Awards, and Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rocking Eve.

He has won various local dancing awards, including first place in a National Dance Competition in 2008. His solo debut’s success propels him to third on the Emerging Artist Chart and 97th on the Artist 100 Chart for the week of March 10 and 91st for the week of March 17.

He is the Artist 100’s fifth Korean creative person, and thus the second Korean soloist after Psy. The South Korean performer and his band were named ‘New Artist of the Year’ at the 2013 Golden Disk Awards, 2013 MelOn Music Awards, 2014 Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards, and hence the 2014 Seoul Music Awards.
