Gary’s given name is Kang Hee-gun, which is spelled in Korean and Hanja as. Gary () is his stage name, which is also spelled Garie. He’s also known as Kang Gary. Gary is a well-known rapper, record producer, composer, entrepreneur, and TV personality. He is currently popular as a solo artist. He is also a rapper and lyricist for the song “Leessang.” It is a former hip-hop duo consisting of him and Gil Seong Joon.

When he first started out, he was more interested in dance than rapping. The rapper said that he competed in and won a dancing competition. He overcame other contestants at the time, including Jang Woo Hyuk and Moon Hee Jun, both members of H.O.T. Lee Soo Man scouted him, together with Wook Hyuk and Hee Jun, to join SM Entertainment. Gary has collaborated on eight albums with Leessang. Since its inception in 2002, the hip-hop duo has enjoyed multiple hits. The rapper debuted as a solo artist in 2014. Mr. Gae, it was with the mini-album.

He is also a long-time collaboration with vocalist Choi Jung-in. Later, the two established the pair “Jung In & Gary.” Jung In & Gary’s singles Your Scent and Bicycle were released.
